ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Siouxland District Health Department is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Director of Health to lead and oversee the administration of the district health department. The Director is responsible for planning and directing population-based services aligned with core public health foundational capabilities. This position oversees services in the following Divisions: Business Services; Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention; Environmental Health; Acute Disease, Epidemiology and Preparedness and Family and Community Health. Jurisdictions covered are Woodbury and Ida counties in Iowa. The director is also responsible for external relations with elected officials, community partners, health care systems and public health entities at the local, regional, state and national levels.
APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s Degree (preferred but not required) in Public Health, public or business administration, or an associated science. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Public Health Administration is recommended. Computer skills required. Must have valid Driver License, ability to obtain car insurance at agency-specified liability level and reliable transportation. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
