Administrative Clerk I - Ida County

Siouxland District Health Department will begin offering Public Health Services in Ida Grove IA. This position involves support for the clinic and public health services. Starting salary is offered in a range based on experience along with an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, sick and vacation time, paid holidays, IPERS and deferred compensation plan. 

Benefits include Health Insurance with excellent coverage. Single dental coverage is offered at no expense to the employee, with a family option available. Retirement benefit is through Iowa Public Employee Retirement System (IPERS). Employer contribution is 9.44% with employee contribution of 6.29%. SDHD also provides 10 paid holidays and 2 personal days per year. Starting vacation is accrued at a 2 week a year rate and sick leave is also available at about 8 hours per month. New SDHD employees are eligible for 5% annual raises with acceptable performance the first five years of their employment in addition to an annual cost of living increase.

Join a team of Public Health Professionals providing health services and education to Ida County Residents that focus on the prevention or spread of diseases.  Daytime Monday through Friday hours (limited weekend hrs.) at Siouxland District Health Department - Ida County in Ida Grove, IA. The Administrative Clerk I will provide services to individuals, families and population groups.

Responsible for serving as receptionist support for all divisions of Siouxland District Health Department-Ida County and provides general office support.  Provide routine messages or dispatch information to proper employees.  Duties include staffing front public service counter and answering main department phone to provide assistance and direction to visitors and callers.  Will work with multiple public health programs, collection and entry of client data in program databases.  Enters employee information in databases; receives cash, prepares and balances receipts daily; and receives and distributes mail and shipments.  Under limited supervision performs general clerical work which follows well-established procedures. Reports to the Public Health Nurse Clinic Manager. This position is based in Ida Grove, Iowa.
